Two terraces frame the choice. One is 54 floors up in Downtown with the Burj Khalifa close enough to fill the view. The other is on the 77th floor in JBR with the Arabian Gulf and the Palm below and nothing in the way. Everything else on this list sits between them, and which way a venue faces matters more than how high it is. This guide covers what you see from each, what the door expects, and when the terraces are actually usable.
How to choose a Dubai sky bar
“Sky bar” covers a lot. Some are formal dining rooms behind floor-to-ceiling glass; some are open terraces with music that builds through the evening; a few are infinity pools by day and dressed-up lounges after dark. What to check:
Which way it faces. Downtown venues face the Burj Khalifa cluster. JBR and Dubai Marina venues look out to the Arabian Gulf and the coast. Neither is better. If you’re there for the Burj Khalifa, go to Downtown, and Address Sky View in particular. If you want sea horizon with towers in silhouette, go to JBR.
Indoor or outdoor. Between June and September, outdoor terraces are only usable after sunset; the daytime heat at that height is intense. From October through April they’re good from late afternoon. Check whether the space you’re booking is the indoor room or the terrace before you reserve.
Dress code. Smart-elegant is the minimum at most sky venues after dark. A few of the better-known Downtown names require fabulous-elegant (polished evening dress). Beachwear is for daytime pool terraces only. The Dubai dress codes guide explains what each tier means on the door.
The underrated move is a mid-week evening. Same view as a Friday, thinner crowd, and terrace tables are easier to get at short notice.

The Burj Khalifa fills the view from the 54th floor of Address Sky View, with the rest of Downtown around it. ALTO 54 is an outdoor terrace wrapped around an infinity pool: sun loungers by day, a dressed-up terrace after dark. Music goes from ambient to commercial as the night goes on. 77 floors up at Address Beach Resort in JBR, one of the highest outdoor venues in the world. From ZETA Seventy Seven you get the whole Gulf coastline, the Palm Jumeirah and the Marina skyline running inland, and the infinity edge means no seat is a bad one. Swimwear by day, when it runs as a rooftop pool. As the afternoon fades the coastline lights up below. Rated 4.8 / 5 from 2,143 Google reviews. Level 43 Sky Lounge Bar & Resto

Smart-casual is enough at Level 43, and that alone separates it from the Downtown venues on this list. It’s on top of Four Points by Sheraton on Sheikh Zayed Road, looking along the highway’s tower corridor to the wider skyline. The crowd is mixed: residents, hotel guests, visitors. CE LA VI DUBAI

A glass-enclosed dining room for the hot months and a terrace facing the Burj Khalifa for the rest of the year. Music is commercial and gets louder as the evening goes on. The dress code is fabulous-elegant and the door enforces it. Glamorous and social, not quiet.
